The 14th ASHRAE Asia-Pacific Conference on
Building Environment was held in Bali, Indonesia from November 18 to November
19, 2017. This annual conference is a major event of ASHRAE Asia Pacific which
carrying out different project meetings, symposiums, and seminars for the year
2017-2018.
Ir Eagle Mo and Mr. Jimmy Law were invited to
present their research paper in the seminar on November 19, 2017. Mr. Jimmy Law was the presenter of the paper
titled “Integrating building design and natural wind to enhance pedestrian wind
comfort: A case study in Hong Kong.” This paper takes a low-density residence
in Hong Kong as an example, discussing how to improve design through CFD
modeling by utilization natural ventilation system to enhance wind conditions
in the area. This session of the seminar attracted many participants from
Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines as well as other countries and regions.
They all shared their valuable experience and knowledge eagerly.
By the end of the
meeting, Dr. BW Olesen, representative of ASHRAE headquarters, and Dr. Agus
Wismakumara, the main organizer of this conference, each gave a summary. All
participants, including Hong Kong representatives took photos to commemorate
the event.
